Award acknowledges contribution to new product development as Dongyue expands sustainable technology initiatives

Bhubaneswar, September 21, 2026: Nandiki Roja Ramani, Head – New Products Development at Dongyue Engineering & Fabricators, has been recognised for her contribution to innovation and new product development at the Kanak News MSME Summit 2026 in Bhubaneswar.
Roja Ramani received the “Excellence in New Product Development & Innovation” award on behalf of Dongyue Group during the summit at Swosti Premium. Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C), Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education, Government of Odisha, was the Chief Guest at the programme and presented the recognition.
The award citation described Dongyue Group as an industrial group focused on advanced manufacturing, innovation and the development of new-generation products and solutions. It also highlighted the Group’s emphasis on research, technology and continuous product development, while recognising Roja Ramani for her contribution to new product development and innovation.
Her current responsibilities are particularly connected with Dongyue’s exploration of new product opportunities in sustainable construction and recycling. One of the company’s focus areas is technology for converting low-value plastic waste, including selected single-use plastics and difficult-to-recycle fractions, into useful construction materials.
Among the products being explored are recycled plastic bricks, recycled plastic blocks and plastic paver blocks. The objective is to create a productive end use for suitable waste materials through an engineered manufacturing process. Such systems can also support the broader concept of circular material use, in which waste is redirected into a new product rather than being treated solely as a disposal burden.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Roja Ramani said the recognition was a great honour for her to receive on behalf of Dongyue Engineering & Fabricators. She said the company’s work combines engineering technology with practical and sustainable solutions and stressed that sustainability should involve protecting the environment while creating useful resource-recovery pathways.
Her remarks also underlined Dongyue’s philosophy of product development: identify a real-world problem, develop an engineering response and work toward a commercially viable solution. In the case of low-value plastic waste, this means investigating whether difficult material streams can be converted into construction products with consistent quality and practical market applications.
Dr. Nandiki Gangadhar Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Dongyue Group, joined the event by teleconference from Greater Noida, where he was leading the Dongyue team at Bauma India 2026. He spoke about the increasing interest the company is receiving in its plastic-waste conversion technology and the growing expectations for practical recycling solutions.
The Group’s current development programme is also looking beyond individual products toward project models that can connect waste sourcing, processing, manufacturing and product utilisation. For cities and local entrepreneurs, this could create opportunities for regional waste-to-product systems, subject to technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, quality standards and economic viability.
The recognition of Nandiki Roja Ramani adds a human dimension to this technology story. It acknowledges the product-development leadership required to take an idea from a waste-management challenge to a potential industrial solution.
