The solo exhibition Contours of Joy (छोटी-छोटी खुशियाँ) by sculptor Sheela Chamariya opened at Triveni Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi in a warm and cheerful atmosphere.
The opening took place in the gracious presence of Mr. Ashok Lavasa, Ms. Sushma K. Bahl, and H.E. Dr. Janice Darbari, who appreciated the artist’s thoughtful and joyful sculptures.
Sheela Chamariya is a self-taught sculptor based in New Delhi, with over twenty years of dedication to art. She has worked closely with well-known sculptors and has also completed a short course in Germany. Speaking about her work, she said, “My work is a reflection of my inner thoughts and an expression of life’s simple joys. I want my sculptures to create emotion, connection, harmony, and rhythm.”
The exhibition reflects Sheela’s personality and thinking, celebrating small moments of happiness through form and texture. Her works are part of several respected collections across the world.
The opening evening had a festive Christmas feel. Some guests came dressed in red, adding colour to the celebration. One guest even arrived with a pet kitten in a small carriage, which delighted everyone. A lot of attention was drawn to Ram Rahim’s unique bag, shaped like a camera, which he proudly showed to fellow guests.
Guests present at the opening included Shruti Gupta Chandra, Kanchan Chandra, photographer Manoj Arora, Durga Kainthola, and Mrinali Luthra, among others.
The exhibition continues until 31 December, inviting visitors to experience the joy of simple pleasures through sculpture.
