This achievement marks the fulfilment of JK Paper’s commitment to publish a book for the winner of the manuscript category during Season 4 of the AutHer Awards. As part of their dedication to fostering creativity and encouraging young female writers, JK Paper introduced the manuscript category during the ‘AutHer Awards’ Season 4. This unique initiative aims to inspire schoolchildren to explore their literary talents and express their thoughts through writing. Aditi Sowmyanarayan emerged as the deserving first winner, and JK Paper has delivered on its commitment by publishing her exceptional work, ‘Gobble Thy Prejudice.’

Aditi Sowmyanarayan, despite facing neurodivergence and a speech disability, has triumphed with her debut book, which explores themes of family, friendship, and personal growth. ‘Gobble Thy Prejudice’ delves into the intricacies of shedding prejudices stemming from emotional baggage accumulated through past experiences. The narrative challenges readers to confront their boundaries, inspiring them to become the best versions of themselves, embodying the never-say-die spirit.

Harsh Pati Singhania, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JK Paper Ltd., congratulated the young author, Aditi Sowmyanarayan. Her book will be a big encouragement for all young and aspiring authors. It’s a proud moment that Aditi became the first winner of a new category of Best Manuscript that we introduced in the 4th edition of the prestigious AutHer Awards. At JK Paper, we not only produce paper but also understand how it touches our lives. As the AutHer Award gets greater traction, it has brought to the fore many unknown women authors and enabled them to bring their stories and experiences to a wider audience.”

I find inspiration to write from people around me. Both Kusum and Ramesh contain parts of me, and Vaidehi could well be my own mother—almost! Says Aditi. I always enjoyed observing people and spinning tales around my observations in my head. What I did not have for long was a way to put that on paper. Writing with a pencil or pen is a sensorially uncomfortable thing for me. Technology changed all of that and has helped me put my thoughts out there, Aditi said. I enjoy writing fiction. I love creating narratives, even for my advocacy work, as I believe that stories have the power to reach out, hold attention, and make an impact. I want to write more and write in different genres too, she said.”

A.S. Mehta, President and Director, JK Paper said, “As promised, we are happy that JK Paper has now published the first Manuscript – the book ‘Gobble Thy Prejudice’. We will continue to carry out this initiative every year aligned with our new vision to be a trusted industry leader enriching lives and creating better future’. My heartiest congratulations to Aditi.”
