Greater Noida: Marking International Women’s Day, the JITO Ladies Wing organized a powerful Car Rally for Cancer and Thalassemia Awareness at the iconic Buddh International Circuit, bringing together hundreds of participants in a remarkable display of social commitment and community leadership.
The Car Rally began at 7:30 AM, when vehicles entered the Formula One track of the circuit. The first vehicle to touch the track carried the message of the upcoming JITO Namokar Mahamantra Diwas, which is scheduled to be celebrated across the country on 9th April.
Following this ceremonial start, hundreds of cars driven by enthusiastic participants and car lovers entered the track, creating a spectacular moment as the rally progressed with the message of cancer and thalassemia awareness. Participants from 18 chapters of JITO North Zone joined the initiative, making the rally one of the largest awareness drives organized by the JITO community.
The program began with the Namokar Mantra, followed by opening remarks from Vikash Jain, Chief Secretary – JITO North Zone, who highlighted the importance of community-driven initiatives that combine awareness, participation, and purpose.
A special theatrical skit presented by the JITO Ladies Wing delivered a powerful message on the importance of timely diagnosis and compassion toward patients battling these diseases.
Among the dignitaries present were Mahaveer Chaplot, Secretary – JITO Apex; Sonali Duggar, Director In-Charge – JITO Ladies Wing; Sheetal Dugar, Chairperson – JITO Ladies Wing; and Raman Jain, Chairman – JITO North Zone.
The Apex leadership witnessed the morning flag-off of the rally and later also attended the felicitation and closing ceremony of the event, reflecting their support and encouragement for this nationwide awareness initiative.
The event was supported by IIFL Capital as the Title Sponsor. The initiative also received valuable support from sponsors and partners including Fashion Entrepreneur Fund, RDB Group, Nahar Group, Pagariya Group, Baldota Group, Haldiram’s, BJB Group, Micro Labs, KLJ Group, The Times of India, and JK Tyre, whose contribution played an important role in making the awareness campaign successful.
A proud highlight of the event was the recognition by the India Book of Records, acknowledging the large-scale awareness initiative and participation in the rally. The India Book of Records team was introduced by Rachana Kanungo, National Convener – Health & Nutrition, following which the recognition was formally presented during the ceremony.
Adding a deeply inspiring dimension to the program, Lisa Ray, a cancer survivor herself, addressed the audience and shared her journey of resilience, emphasizing the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, and emotional strength in the fight against cancer.
The gathering also featured an informative session by Dr. Naval Kumar Verma, who spoke about preventive healthcare and the role of awareness in combating serious diseases like cancer and thalassemia.
The ceremony concluded with the felicitation of sponsors and supporters, followed by brunch and informal networking among participants.
The rally reflected the spirit of leadership, compassion, and social responsibility, with the JITO Ladies Wing demonstrating how collective action can amplify awareness and inspire meaningful change in society.
